Chronicle — story spoilers

The empty circlet offers a name for an unanswered mystery: the Crownless. Orders, disturbed boundaries and imposed runes suggest an unseen planner interested in something older than a throne. No witness has identified that planner, and no one knows how the Verdant Ward was reached. The victories across Markoria saved lives and strengthened the capital; they did not answer every threat. Reports from Kataris now echo the same vacant symbol.
